One of the most significant duties now with physician advisors is to work with the Clinical Documentation Integrity Team, working with medical terms and teaching doctors how to use them properly. In addition, they stand as case managers, especially in complex cases like disagreements between family members and physicians, where they act as a neutral body to read the chart and help the family understand what’s happening.
